Luke A. Sobba

Mr. Sobba, a graduate from Washburn University School of Law, practices in the areas of commercial and civil litigation, focusing primarily on consumer and mortgage finance law.  He has represented lenders in matters involving the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), as well as other federal and state consumer finance laws.  Luke represents banks, mortgage lenders and mortgage servicing companies, and has been involved in litigation across the country.

Mr. Sobba also appears at hearings and workshops before the Kansas Corporation Commission, where he represents telecommunications providers in regulatory matters implementing Federal Communications Commission (FCC) guidelines and the Kansas Telecommunications Act.  He has established rapport with commission staff and attorneys, and advises clients regarding the application of state laws and regulations to the business of providing telephone, wireless and other communications services to customers in the state of Kansas.

Luke is a former high school teacher and coach and has chaired various committees for school accreditation and academic achievement.  He is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts of Kansas, and before the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.   He is a resident of the firm’s Topeka office.
